AMALIFE Beach Club & Hotel sits on Tierra Bomba island and positions itself as much as an experience and events destination as a place to stay. The day pass is the calm version of an island day: a quiet, good-looking setting rather than a party beach.

Your pass covers the boat there and back, a welcome cocktail — with or without alcohol, your choice — and an à la carte lunch with a non-alcoholic drink. Beyond that you have the run of the property: the pool, sun beds, showers and full access to the facilities, plus games and activities through the day.

Boats leave from the Bocagrande beach behind the hospital at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30, and run back at 2:30, 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30, so you can shape the day long or short.

Blue Apple Beach House sits on Playa Mamón, on the western shore of Tierra Bomba — the side that faces the open Caribbean rather than the calmer bay. The boat from Cartagena takes about 25 minutes.

The day pass runs roughly six hours and covers the boat both ways, a welcome cocktail, a lounger with towel service, a snack and a one-course lunch, ice cream, coffee and unlimited water. Boats leave Muelle de la Bodeguita at 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

Groups can add extras through the club: a DJ, a private chef, or a mixologist.

Éteka is a five-star, adults-only boutique retreat on Tierra Bomba, built around slowing down. The boat ride from Cartagena takes ten minutes, which makes it one of the shortest crossings of any island club on the coast.

The day pass comes in two tiers. The VIP pass adds the VIP zone — the mirador and the beach deck, subject to availability — and a four-course meal in which dishes up to $90,000 COP are included. The Light pass covers a three-course meal with more than twenty main courses to choose from, and standard access to the beach, pool and lounge. Both tiers include the round-trip native boat with dock fees, an alcoholic welcome cocktail, a towel, and non-alcoholic drinks through the day. On Saturdays there is a live DJ.

Boats leave Muelle de la Bodeguita at 10:00, 10:30 and 11:00 in the morning and again at 1:00 PM, and run back from the island at 4:00, 5:00 or 6:00 PM depending on weather.

Pink Mango Beach Club sits on Playa Linda, Tierra Bomba, and was created by the founder behind Blue Apple Beach. The boat leaves from the Bocagrande beach behind the hospital, every half hour from 9:30 AM until midday.

The pass gives your group a shaded spot with chairs and sun loungers, and the run of the club: a 25-metre pool, a wide beach and bathrooms. Food is a main course of your choice from the menu, cooked to order rather than plated in advance. To drink, you choose one cocktail, a glass of wine, or two beers or soft drinks — and filtered water is unlimited all day.

Boats head back from 3:00 PM onwards, with the last of them running until sunset.

Isla Real is on Tierra Bomba, reached by boat from Marina Santa Cruz. The crossing is part of the day rather than just the way in: the route passes the Fuerte San Fernando, the eighteenth-century fortress guarding the Bocachica channel, so you get a panoramic view of it from the water.

The day is a straightforward one. You leave at 10:00 AM and come back at 5:00 PM, which gives you the better part of seven hours. A welcome cocktail on arrival, towel service, and the run of the property. Lunch is a choice of five dishes with a non-alcoholic drink: the island’s typical plate, grilled chicken breast, pasta carbonara, fish sancocho, or a club sandwich. At weekends there is a live DJ.
