Sabai Beach is a small eco-resort on the Barú peninsula, built around a stretch of private beachfront kept free of vendors and crowds. It is a quieter day than most of the Barú clubs, and the day pass is priced with the departure tax already included rather than collected at the pier.

You leave from the Todomar pier in Bocagrande at 7:30 AM, with a bottle of water on board and a run past Fuerte de Bocachica and the Ciénaga de Cholón on the way. A local fruit popsicle is waiting on arrival.

The day itself is beach beds at the water, a freshwater infinity pool looking out to sea, towels and freshwater showers, coffee all day and wifi on the beach. Aura Hotel Barú sits on the calm water of Ensenada del Cholón on Isla Barú, an intimate beachfront property rather than a large club. The day pass gives you the hotel’s beach and pool for the day, with lunch and a welcome cocktail included.

You choose how you get there. The Normal pass crosses by shared sport boat and takes in a panoramic run past Fuerte de Bocachica on the way. The VIP pass travels by shared land transport instead — the same day on the island, reached by road rather than by sea. Both are return journeys.

Once you arrive the day is unstructured: a beach bed or sun lounger, the freshwater pool, kayaks, paddleboards, snorkelling masks and a ping pong table, wifi across the property, freshwater showers and towel service. Lunch is a main course chosen from seven options with a soft drink. The return leaves at 3:00 PM.

There is no DJ, no thumping bar and no rows of loungers packed shoulder to shoulder — it is a quiet property on Barú built around calm: shaded corners, artisanal detail, a jacuzzi zone looking out over the landscape, and a Caribbean kitchen working with local ingredients.

The pass buys you the run of the property for the day, the jacuzzi, and the kayaks and paddle boards. Food and drink are not included — the restaurant is à la carte, so you eat and drink what you want and settle it there.

It suits people who want a slow day on Barú with something to paddle and somewhere warm to sit, rather than a party.

Hotel Isla del Encanto occupies its own island in the Barú archipelago, about an hour from Cartagena. Because the island is the hotel’s, the beach is too — no day boats unloading onto it, no vendors working the sand, no shared stretch of public shoreline.

The day pass comes in four tiers rather than one. The two Premium passes are the same day out, split only by how you travel: Terrestre goes by road, Marítimo crosses by boat.
