Bayside Island is a Rosario Islands beach club built on a flat stretch of sand with clear water in front of it — teak sun loungers, a private pier, an open-air restaurant and a beach bar. It runs as a full-day pass, not a boat tour with a stop attached.

You meet at the Todomar pier in Bocagrande at 7:20 AM and cross by speedboat. On arrival there is a welcome cocktail, or a lemonade if you would rather. After that: the beach, a lounger, a fresh-water shower and a towel, kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel masks to take out, wifi if you need it, and a hydration station with water available all day. Lunch is à la carte with a drink included. Boats are back at the Cartagena pier at 4:00 PM.

Two plans are available. The standard plan has three lunch dishes to choose from. The VIP plan opens that up to seven, adds an open bar of selected cocktails and unlimited soft drinks, includes a 30-minute relaxing massage, and includes the boat transfer across to the Oceanario.

Not included in the ticket price: administrative fee and national parks tax, $31,500 COP per person.

Oceanario: entry to the Oceanario is not included and is paid directly on site. On the VIP plan the boat transfer across is included.

Arrive at the Todomar pier in Bocagrande at 7:20 AM for the speedboat out to the Rosario Islands. Transport is round-trip — the same service brings you back at the end of the day.

Arrival · Bayside Island

A welcome cocktail on arrival, or a lemonade instead. Bayside sits on flat sand with clear water in front of it, and the teak sun loungers are yours for the day, along with a Bayside Island towel and a fresh-water shower. The common areas are open to everyone: bathrooms, dining rooms, the beach zone, the open-air restaurant, the private pier and the beach bar. There is wifi, and a hydration station with water available throughout.

Paddle boards, kayaks and snorkel masks are included and free to take out. On the VIP plan there is also a 30-minute relaxing massage, an open bar running all day, and the boat transfer across to the Oceanario if you want to add it — the entry ticket is paid on site.

Lunch, then the 4:00 PM return

Lunch is à la carte, and every dish comes with a drink — a soft drink or a bottle of water. The standard plan has three dishes to choose from: fish fillet, chicken breast, or pasta or rice with vegetables. The VIP plan opens it up to seven: fish fillet, shrimp rice, chicken breast, baby beef, pasta di mare, chicken tenders, or pasta or rice with vegetables.

Afterwards there is time on the beach before the speedboat runs back, arriving at the Cartagena pier at 4:00 PM. Return times are subject to change with the weather.

Tips and personal expenses

Bayside works for people who want the beach club rather than the boat trip. You get one island for the whole day, a teak lounger and a towel that stay yours, a fresh-water shower before the ride home, and a sit-down lunch rather than a fixed plate.

The kit is included rather than rented: kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel masks all come with the pass, so there is something to do beyond the lounger without paying extra. Wifi and a hydration station cover the practical side of a long day out.

The two plans split cleanly. Standard is the beach, the gear and a three-dish lunch. VIP adds the bar — cocktails and soft drinks unlimited across the day — a 30-minute massage, the boat across to the Oceanario, and a seven-dish lunch. If your group intends to drink at all, the VIP price closes most of the gap on its own.

The day runs long by Rosario Islands standards, with the return at 4:00 PM rather than mid-afternoon.
